The journey
In a dark corner,
I hid my face.
But I became a runner,
Wanting to complete the race.
The journey felt forever,
And weariness took over.
But my scars pushed me forward,
Even when it began to hurt.
Shame crushed my spirit,
Dissapointments held me down.
But I knew I'd to make the cut,
'Cause I needed the crown.
The prize was near,
Because I heard the cheers.
Yet when I drew closed,
I saw no end.
