I'm a chili sauce taster
It has been exactly three days since I'd started work at Nestle.
So far everything has been pretty good.
I've been placed under the Foodservice division, but they are changing their name to Nestle Professionals.
My supervisor is a nice Singaporean lady, she'll be mentoring me for the whole four months.
She's the manager of the I & R (Innovation % Renovation) department. She's basically responsible for the development of food products, both old and new.
I've been attending briefings by managers responsible for the different departments in the division, since day one.
On the contrary, I'd the opportunity to visit Nestle's factory in PJ on Tuesday and today for various sensory evaluations. In layman term 'food tasting'. I've been tasting chili sauces for the past two days, and all kinds of other sauces, including chicken broths.
My stomach feels a little upset today, I wonder if its due to all the food tasting or the QC test that I'd to do today (which also involves tasting, but on a food product that have been claimed to have gone bad :P)
I'll be meeting more clients and customers tomorrow. The sales people will be taking me and another new staff around, and I would have to conduct an informal survey among the customers since it's part of my assignment.
However most of the time, I'll be sited at my desk like a 'dungu' cause there's still nothing much for me to do. And at that particular period, a minute is equivalent to an hour. Seriously!
Overall, everyone has been really nice and friendly.
But I'm on my own almost all the time.
Everyone is just too busy with their work and meetings.
I guess it ain't as bad lah, since I'm currently sharing my desk with a malay girl; I've at least someone to chit chat with.
Nestle provides free flow of Milo, Nescafe and Nestea Teh Tarik for all the employees.
To me, it ain't a good thing. I've been having cups of hot Milo for the past few days, to keep myself warm and a way of drinking my boredom away :P
It is seriously hazardous to my waistline *hehe
