Sushi wushi

It was a whole day affair for Dan and I yesterday. We spent our time around KL - mostly window shopping, and we managed to watched the movies "Wanted" and "Hancock" too :) Both movies were equally good, but if you're a huge fan of action-packed movies - "Wanted" would be a must watch.

We had lunch in Sungei Wang - I never knew that they had a food court located at the rooftop of the car park area. Food there is way cheaper than the ones located within the mall, so it's a really good place to have a good and cheap meal.

On the contrary, we had dinner at Sushi King, BTS. Its been awhile since I'd sushi, and the price of sushi has escalated tremendously 0_0 Still tastes good though :P~

We had only 6 different types of dishes (shown above), which amounted to RM41.60! I do know that Japanese cuisines have never been cheap, but I guess with the price increase in petrol and all - everything is getting more and more expensive 0_0

Maybe I should pack lunch & dinner the next time Dan and I do spend the whole day out *hee

Of Dan, Food and Heels

In my previous post, I'd mentioned that I would take a week break from baking. However that wasn't the case *hee
Since I'd leftover ingredients, which were easily perishable - I decided to bake another cake on Tuesday by using the similar recipe for the Apple Cinnamon cake, but I replaced certain ingredients in the recipe. For example; I substituted cinnamon with vanilla essence, and chopped apples with raisins.

The outcome? Taste vice, it wasn't as good as the Apple Cinnamon cake. Majority preferred the Apple Cinnamon cake recipe.

On another note, Dan and I went on a date yesterday to celebrate his early 'graduation', since he is finally done with all his FYPs. I'm so happy for you hubby! :)

We went over to One U to catch The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian movie. Before the movie, we had dinner at Robert Harris. It was our first time there. Price vise, it is very affordable. However in terms of taste, I would rate it mediocre. I can't remember the exact name of the dishes that we had. My memory hasn't been doing so well lately *hee

Dan had Lamb with Herbs Rice. The lamb was stewed with lots of herbs and spices. The meat was tender and juicy - it was really appetizing. On the contrary, the herbs rice was a disappointment - no evidence of herbs could be detected by our taste buds.

I'd the Seafood platter, which consisted of 2 mini pieces of calamari, mussels, fish, and shrimps. The french fries that accompanied the seafood was soggy. Overall, the seafood and coleslaw wasn't too bad. However there is still much room for improvement.

Before Dan picked me up from work, one of the strap on my heels snapped! The heels are only a few months old, and I got them at a rather cheap price - RM20. Thus shorter life span *hahaha

When we arrived at One U, Dan and I searched high and low for a replacement. We went to a number of shoe shops, but our search was pretty unfruitful. The designs that I fancied somehow were always out of stock. I actually gave up, and told Dan to forget about getting one today. However Dan was persistent, and we finally found a pair that I like at Voir. Special thanks to Dan for being extremely patient and for sponsoring me a brand new pair of black heels :)

I wanted and still want to get a non-black one, but its hard to find one in my size =_= I'll be patient and wait, since it is not a necessity.

Anyway, I'm contented with what I have. Thanks Dan darling for always making me feel special, its definitely going to be a lonely weekend without you. I miss you already.

Get jiggy wit it.

For some reason Cass thinks my life as a musician is super interesting and i should blog about my gigs and stuff more often. Well the one obvious difference i can think of is that no one goes to offices to watch people work and clap their hands after every page they've finished. Is being a musician glamorous?...perhaps. But did i become one because of that? ...definitely not. Here's a day's life of a musician-cum-student:

Thurs
3pm : Skip class and rush to soundcheck at Hartamas.
3.20pm: Arrived, looking for parking amongst heavily parked office patrons.
4pm : Soundcheck/rehearsal finally starts cuz everyone came late.
6.30pm: Traffic jam all the way back home to Setapak. Listening to CD of new songs that have to be learnt by tonight. Wished i had a limo n a driver so i can practice on the way home.
7.35pm: Finally reached home. Practiced a bit. Felt really sleepy due late nights and projects. Call Cass and
chatted for a while. Napped.
8.45pm: Realized i woke up too late for dinner. Showered, iron my shirt and rush off.
9.30pm: Arrived back at Hartamas again. Have quick dinner at nearby mamak.
10pm: Gig. During breaks; sit by the bar with bandmates and talk about global issues.
1.15am: Gig finishes. Pack up. Bandmates invites for mamak(again). Had to say no cuz got things to do. (Some gigs end early like 11pm which allows me to go soundcheck at places that does soundcheck on thursday nights like Alexis if i'm playing there on the following day)
2am: Reach home. Turn on pc and start working on school projects.
4.30am: Sleep.

Fri
9.30am: Woke up for 9am class. Take on sweet time to prepare even though 30minutes late already.
10.15am: Arrive at college. Lecturer locked classroom door already. Had to promise no more late mornings
next time even though this is the millionth time. Enters classroom and try not to fall back to sleep.
(My fridays the previous term had 9am-3pm of class in a row)
1pm: Poteng class a while to go eat lunch. Sms Cass and ask if she ate already.
1.30pm: Back in class. Napped.
3pm: Go home. Do school projects. Facebook. Blog (ocassionally). YouTube.
5.30pm: Call Cass and chat. Feel like sleeping but have to finish up some stuff.
7.30pm: Have dinner. Iron shirt and get ready for gig.
8.30pm: Watch YouTube.
9.30pm: Go off to gig.
10pm: Gig. Chatted with some friends during breaks. Try to socialize and get to know some new ppl but didn't
in the end cuz couldn't be bothered. End up at the bar talking about global issues with bandmates.
1.30am: Finish gig. Go mamak eat.
3am: Reach home. Sleep.

The bass player, a christmas tree and I

The bass player took me for a movie marathon on Saturday and Sunday at Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara. It was my first time there, even though I live less than 15 minutes away *hee
We watched Bee Movie and Hitman on Sat, and Stardust on Sunday. Bee movie and Stardust was really entertaining and funny, while Hitman was quite a disappointment. However I do have to give a little credit to the movie Hitman, because the action part was pretty good.

We had lunch at Marche before the Bee Movie, and it was my first time dinning there too. Two thumbs up for Marche! The food was delicious, but its a tad pricey.

We had Big Apple donuts on Saturday and Sunday too! *hee. We tried Durian, Chocoholic, Snowy, Say Cheese, Californian Almonds and Bananarama. All were equally delicious! We had them during the movies as snacks - my big bag came in handy *hee.

We ate a lot the whole day. Kenny Rogers for dinner, and the bass player bought me a box of strawberries from the flea market too :)

I had a really good time. A thousand apologies to the bass player for giving him a rather hard time with my emo-ness lately, so sorry. Please don't spank my butt ok? :) And thank you for always making time to take me out and spoil me rotten *hee

I'm going to be extremely busy with my thesis - the lecturer doubled our workload, hence I'll be seeing less of the bass player :(
Not to mention Christmas is just a month away, need to shop for prezzies soon - but I need to start saving first :P

The b'day date

The birthday date with the bass player was indeed a delightful one :)

You're finally 22!! *squeezes the bass player's cheeks :PI made him the b'day card. Nice?

I knew he most likely wouldn't allow me to buy him the shirt as his b'day gift, so I bought him mini muffins and cookies from Famous Amos :) One of the best ways to spoil and pamper the person that I love *hee

The mini muffins sat in my room the whole afternoon, and they kept tempting me 0_0 Thankfully I had a rather strong sense of self-control yesterday, which is extremely rare when it comes to food *hee

We went to Paddington's House of Pancakes again :) And had yummy food again :P

It's called Boston - had a generous amount of cheese and seafoods

The bass player did some shopping. It was fun and something out of the norm, cause we're usually shopping for me instead *hee

Before the date ended, we went for a movie 'I now pronounce you Chuck and Harry'. This movie will tickle your funny bone from the beginning and till the very last second of the show - 100% guaranteed :)Hence if you're feeling a lil down, you'll feel a whole lot better after the movie - but you've got to be 18 and above to watch it *hee

I always have a great time when I'm with the bass player, I hope you enjoyed yourself too :)
