A not so happy CNY

A very Happy Chinese New Year to all!
I'm sure most are still celebrating, unlike me - I'm already back to work on the 3rd day, and definitely not by free will.
Well my CNY wasn't such a good one - been moody for sometime.
Had migraine for almost a week, it was quite severe that I'd to take 3 days of MC.
After the series of migraine, I'd an allergic reaction to the migraine medication - hence I'd to spent RM50 from my ang pow collection on more medication.
Went to a 24 hours clinic on the 1st day of CNY, just to get 1/2 dozen of anti-histamine pills for the mouth allergy that I'd.
Thus as predicted, CNY was a torturous one for me - eating which is usually the most wonderful part of CNY, became the most excruciating affair for me 0_0
However, thankfully it is much better right now.
Overall these past week has been quite a moody and rowdy one.

New Year

I surely did not expect the year 2008 to end so soon, but I'm definitely looking forward to the new year :)
Happy New Year on behalf of Dan and I!

An evening at Shanghai city.

When we arrived at the city, there was this non-functional fountain with lights and all...everyone seems to be hanging around it.

At a mall's foodcourt, there was this stall selling these really nice Mochi. They're kinda small but costs bout Rm4 each.
They're sticky on the outside but easy on the chewing...and the cream inside taste really good.
There's a variety of flavors to choose from, I chose the Caramel and Red Bean ones...really really delicious.

The sausages there are also really nice...I can't remember how much they were...but i remember they were crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside.

We have Polo, they have Zolo.

Shanghai's version of the TimeOut magazine.

And they have a bunch of really nice architecture.

To be continued.....................

I want to go for a holidaaaaaaaay!

I've been wanting to blog for sometime, but I've been extremely lazy. I've just started working as a nutritionist in a pharmacy, actually it's already my second week - so far, it's pretty mundane. Not many tasks and responsibilities have been unloaded onto me yet - and I'm definitely thankful, since I'd an extremely bad experience with my first job.

Had the opportunity of holidaying at Fraser's Hill for a couple days before starting work. However I wished it had been longer, and I wished that I'd more alone time with Dan.
The serene and beautiful view at the bungalow we stayed at.

Had scones and tea at The Smokehouse. A pot of tea and two scones cost RM18.00 per person. Cost a bomb, but worth splurging, since its the holidays *hee

I love the scones! Crumbly, and topped up with lotsa butter, chunky strawberry jam and fresh whipped cream! I'm going to try my hands on 'em soon - I hope baking scones is as easy as eating 'em :P

And of course, a picture with my darling Dan. Would have been a dull and boring holiday without him. I wonder when will my next holiday be...

Pelabuhan Dickson

Sorry for the lack of updates, have been traveling around a whole lot since the beginning of CNY.
On the fourth day, we went down to Port Dickson. I'll just let the pictures do the story telling :)

The group that went to PD
The beach was clean, and I was quite impressed

We were terrible at building sand castles, so we made a sand pear instead *hee

Just the two of us :)

Spot the little crabby!

We saw this monkey and his buddies chilling up on the trees in the resort that we stayed.

We paid a visit to the mini zoo in PD. To me, it felt more like a farm. Especially with chickens and dunk all over the place. And Dan couldn't resist chasing them around :P

Indian peacock. I can't tell the difference.
I fed the monkey rabbit food *hee
Who said chickens can't rock & roll!
Duckies that flew in from Germany.
Pretty white pigeons.
I had cravings for ostrich meat. Too bad we weren't allowed to slaughter the only one that they had.
I heard rabbit meat taste good too.

Busuk horses and cows.

*yawwwnn.. more humans.
The deadly stare.

CNY with a dash of thesis

I'm sure I'm not the only soul writing my thesis paper on the first day of CNY.
There's been very little progress; from 34 to 36 pages - its pathetic =_=
I'm practically squeezing every drop of brain juice that I have left. Unfortunately, I'm almost 99.9% dry and juice-less.
I know that my thesis project wasn't a failure (or maybe I'm saying that to make me feel better *haha), just so happen the results that I've obtained are all negative.
I guess the only thing that I can take comfort in, is that I gave and did my best. God, I surrender the rest to You :)
Thesis aside, reunion makan in Klang was good. Plenty of food, plenty of leftovers too :)
And this year we had pets to celebrate the new year with; a cat called Orange and a hamster that is yet to be name *hee

More randomness

Back in KL. The holiday trip to Malacca wasn't great or fun. Have been trying my utmost best to study for my very final exam. The migraine has made a comeback. The bass player has been very supportive and a huge encouragement to me. The act of painting my nails has no longer have a relaxing effect on me :(

Hey Malacca, its me again!

Will be heading down to Malacca (again!) for a family trip.
Cameron Highlands was the first option, but somehow Malacca seemed more appealing to my family.
If anyone wants anything (not exactly anything-lah *hee) from Malacca, just send me a sms - latest Monday morning :)
I can summarize this family holiday in just word; FOOD! :P

Back from the short hiatus

The holiday was great, till I refused to return home.
However, reality gave me a hard kick in the butt - so here am I, home again :(
Even though the holidays have only began, the list of things-to-do has already been listed out by the lecturers.
I would have to resume with my thesis real soon, and I'm definitely not looking forward to spending hours of my precious time - reading through journals again!
As much as I despise them, journals will be daily bread for the coming few months.

I've nothing planned out for the holidays, other than the need to catch up on sleep and more sleep *hee
I'll be home mostly, if my thesis supervisor doesn't calls me back to Uni.
This semester break would be all about rejuvenating, recuperating and re-energizing.

What a bummer, I've caught a cold and having a slight fever now. I'm off to bed.
